    Trash Talk Dominates State of the Community

    Blue vs Green Trash cans dominated the discussion at Friday’s State of the Community. Held this year at The Town Club, the luncheon saw a capacity crowd turn out to hear Sheriff K.P. Gibson, School Superintendent John Bourque and Police Jury President David Savoy speak on the progress of their respective offices over the past year and perhaps give a hint of things to come. Among hot topics were the Acadia Parish Police Jury’s new Trash Collection contract and school safety, with recent school shootings in other states front-of-mind for most. However, the overall spirit of each discussion was that Acadia Parish is in a good place.
