    New Board Members Announced for ​the 2019-2020 Year

    Members of the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce have elected four new members to the 2019-20 Board of Directors and will be honored at the upcoming Acadia Parish Honors on May 1, 2019.

    Newly elected board members to serve a three year term beginning July 1, 2019, are Jeremiah Meck, Acadia-St. Landry Hospital; Heather LaBouve, The Bank; and Meg Bier Heidtman, Louisiana State University Eunice. Chance Henry will be serving an additional 3-year term, continuing his Board service.

    All are invited to join the Acadia Chamber on Wednesday, May 1st at the Grand Opera House of the South for our inaugural Acadia Parish Honors, Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony. The Chamber will be honoring the 2019 Business Person of the Year, Dr. Eddie and Ann Palmer; Humanitarian of the Year, Louise Morrow; and Acadia Parish’s Outstanding Young Citizens as well as outgoing, current and incoming Chamber Board Members. A social hour with drinks and a silent auction will begin at 6 pm with dinner catered by Fezzo’s Seafood, Steakhouse and Oyster Bar to follow at 7 pm. Click here to purchase tickets.

    Jeremiah Meck

    Acadia-St. Landry Hospital, Church Point

    Born and raised in the state of Pennsylvania, Jeremiah Meck attended and graduated from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing’s Registered Nurse Program. He has worked in emergency departments all across the nation and as a flight nurse in rural Alaska prior to settling in Crowley 8 years ago. Jeremiah is the Program Coordinator at Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point where he is involved in Project Management, Business Development, and Emergency Preparedness. Jeremiah is a board member for the Acadia Parish Communications District, a member on the Acadia Parish Local Emergency Planning Committee, and a Staff Parish Relations Committee member at Crowley First United Methodist Church. Jeremiah is married to Emily Freeland Meck and together they have 3 children, Samuel, Henry, and Helen. 

    Heather LaBouve

    The Bank, Iota

    Heather LaBouve is a Vice President / Loan Officer of The Bank who manages the Iota Office where she is dedicated in serving the people of Acadia and surrounding parishes.  She has been employed with their team since 2000 and has been a member of the Chamber since 2018.  After graduating with honors from both Jennings High School and McNeese State University, Heather earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She is a member of the Honor’s Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Catholic Daughters, where she served as secretary / treasurer, and Ladies Alter Society. Heather is married to Brennon LaBouve and together they have four children.

    Meg Bier Heidtman

    Louisiana State University, Eunice

    Meg Bier Heidtman is the Continuing Education Coordinator at LSUE.  After graduating from Notre Dame High School in 1989, she attended ULL and then moved from Crowley for a number of years. She and her late husband, Kurt, lived in Monroe, Louisiana with their three children. During her time as a stay at home mother to Garrett, Will, and Lily, she was involved in the Ouachita Parish schools as PTO President of Swartz Lower Elementary, Swartz Upper Elementary, and Ouachita Parish Junior High School. She also volunteered at Life Choices Crisis Pregnancy Center. After returning to Crowley in June of 2017, she began working at the LSUE Foundation. She serves as a senator on the Staff Senate Committee on campus. She is involved both Eunice Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs. She and her children are members of St. Michael Catholic Church.

    Chance Henry

    Keith Henry Insurance Agency, Mermentau

    Chance Henry is the owner of Keith Henry Insurance Agency, Inc. in Mermentau and has been a chamber member since 2016. He is a lifelong resident of the 5th ward of Acadia Parish and a proud graduate of Midland High School. After graduation, Chance started Bon Chance Crawfish catering company, which he still co-owns. In 2014, he re-opened his family’s insurance office and began serving the personal and commerical insurance needs of the people of Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana. Chance’s community involvement includes the Crowley Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus Father Fontaine Council #4791, Istre Cemetery Board of Directors, Acadia Parish Planning Commission, Acadia Parish RPEC and a founding member of Cadien Toujours, Inc. Chance is married to Taylor Trahan Henry and they have one son, John Keith. 

    Chance will be serving an additional 3-year term, continuing his Board service.
