Locally based Compass Health Expands to Central Louisiana
SEPTEMBER 26, 2019 – CROWLEY, LA – Compass Health is pleased to announce the opening of its newest facility in Marksville Louisiana. Compass Behavioral Center of Marksville, located at 137 Dr. Childress Drive, consists of an 18-bed psychiatric inpatient facility as well as an outpatient department that can serve approximately 50 patients per day. The brand new, state-of-the-art facility was announced last October by Crowley resident and Compass Health Founder and Chairman Mark J. Cullen.
“We’ve been looking forward to this day for quite some time now,” said Cullen. “A lot of things had to come together in the last couple of years to make this a reality; and we’re so thankful that they did.”
Compass Behavioral Center of Marksville offers safe and confidential mental health treatment close to home for Avoyelleans and neighboring communities.
“When we were planning this facility, we really tried to walk in the shoes of someone who would be seeking care here,” said Cullen. “The location, the setting, the design – it’s all in an effort to increase safety and privacy and, in turn, better clinical outcomes.”
The inpatient and outpatient care will be under the medical direction of Charles Bramlet, MD. Dr. Bramlet has served Avoyelles Parish and Central Louisiana for over two decades. Elizabeth Taylor, MD is Associate Psychiatric Medical Director and Anne Dill, FPMHNP is Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Edmond J. Kalify, MD, Dixie Broussard, MD, Diana Corley, FNP, Jeanie Tassin, FNP, and Julie Anne Ducote, FNP are the Medical Consultants.
Recently, Compass Health hired 34 new employees; RNs, LPNs, Mental Health Technicians, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Activity Therapists, Dietary, Housekeeping and Clerical – all new jobs in Avoyelles parish.
“While the building itself is beautifully designed with both patient and staff safety top of mind, it is the compassionate care and healing that is going to happen within these walls that will make this place special,” said Cullen.
Poche’ Prouet Architects is the design-build team with Southwest Contractors of Lafayette. PPA was tasked by Cullen with utilizing as many locally based companies as possible during the construction phase.
