We are excited to announce the groundbreaking for a new subdivision in the town of Duson! On Thursday, September 24 at 8:30 AM there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Cane Place Subdivision. It will be located across the street from Duson City Hall, making it an ideal location for the town.
The new Cane Place Subdivision will be a two phase project, and is located on a 28-acre plot of land and will feature 102 plots measuring 50’ by 115’ on average. Each of these plots will have a brand-new home built by D.R. Horton, Inc., one of the premier home building companies in the nation. The estimated value range of the newly built homes has not been disclosed yet. The building of the homes is expected to begin sometime in mid to late summer of 2021 and last until 2023-24.
When asked about the upcoming subdivision, Duson Mayor Johnny Thibodeaux said, “The goal is to better the quality of life in Duson. This subdivision will change the whole aspect of the town of Duson.” He went on to say that since Duson is partially in Acadia and Lafayette Parish, the new subdivision will attract people looking for these types of homes from both parishes.
The developer for the site is J. Breaux Enterprises, LLC. The Engineer of Record is Chad Roussel of Ragin Engineering. The home builder is D.R. Horton, Inc.
The groundbreaking ceremony will be on September 24th at 8:30 AM. It will be located right across the street from Duson City Hall, which is 498 Toby Mouton Road.
