    APCC Announces Recipients of the Outstanding Young Citizen Award

    Ashley Reynaga is a senior at Church Point High School. She is the daughter of Juanita Reynaga of Church Point. Ashley spent her time at Church Point High involved with the Art and Beta Clubs, where she served as Beta Club President and Student Council President.  Ashley remains very active in her community by volunteering with several community organizations as well as her church parish, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. She was selected as a member of the inaugural Mayor’s Youth Committee. Upon graduation, Ashley has plans to attend Dillard University where she will study Criminal Justice & Pre-Law with hopes of becoming a prosecutor. 

    Madeline Foster is a senior at Crowley High School. She is the daughter of John and Tracy Foster of Crowley. Madeline stayed very active at Crowley High where she was a member of Student Council, 4-H, the Key Club and the National Honor Society. She served as class Vice-President for both her sophomore and junior year. Madeline achieved Principal’s List all four years of high school as well as Crowley High Student of the Year and the Daughters of the American Revolution Award. Outside of school she stays involved with her community through her church parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary. She also reigned as Jr. Miss Acadia Parish – during which she helped out with community events such as Witchy Way and Jingle Bell Noel. Upon graduation, Madeline has plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in Child and Family Studies. 

    Brylee Siebert is a senior at Iota High School. She is the Daughter of Erik and Wendee Siebert of Eunice. During Brylee’s time at Iota she received Honor Roll all four years. Brylee has simultaneously attended Louisiana State University at Eunice for the last two years through their dual enrollment program where she accrued 60 transferable credits. She is a member of the PTK Honors Society at LSUE as well as a Student Government Association senator. Outside of school, Brylee is an active member of her church parish St. Thomas More Catholic in Eunice. She is a part of a group of ladies that decorates the church with the turn of each season. Brylee will be graduating from Iota High School next weekend with both her high school diploma and an associates degree. She has plans to attend McNeese State University in the Fall where she will study Psychology to complete her Bachelor’s Degree. She then plans to move forward with graduate school.

    Brianna Simon is a senior at Midland High School. She is the daughter of Deborah Smith of Estherwood. During her time at Midland she has been a member of the Beta Club and HOSA, Future Health Professionals Club. She has served as both Senior Class president and the Basketball Manager. Brianna is a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution award as well as Student of the Year at Midland High. Upon graduation, Brianna has plans to attend Louisiana State University at Eunice and study management with hopes of owning her own Bakery one day. 

    Mackenzie Olinger is a senior at Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish. Mackenzie is the daughter of Tony and Verna Olinger of Rayne. During high school, she was active in Student Council, Campus Ministry, Drama Club and Beta Club. During her four years at Notre Dame she was a member of the Track & Field, Cross Country and Tennis teams. Mackenzie is a recipient of the Tulane Book Award and Academic All-State Honors – as well as a nominee for the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence. Outside of school, she is an active member of her church parish, St. Joseph’s in Rayne where she is involved in Rayne Life Teen. Upon graduation, Mackenzie has plans to attend Centenary College in Shreveport to major in Neuroscience with plans to become a research neuroscientist. She aspires to find a cure to common and unsolved mind related disorders. 

    Riley Armstrong is a senior at Northside Christian School in Crowley. She is the daughter of Clay and Kim Armstrong of Eunice. Riley spent much of her time at Northside involved in Beta Club, Student Council and Kid’s Chapel Team which she also held leadership roles in. She served as both President and Historian for the Beta Club, as well as Class Representative and Vice President of the Student Council.  Riley was also a team member of both the Volleyball and Softball Teams. Riley has placed at Literary Rally in English, US History and Chemistry. Outside of school, she is an active member of both the First Baptist Church of Crowley and the Mowata Baptist Church. Upon graduation, Riley will attend Louisiana College in the Fall majoring in Pre-Med where she plans to pursue a career in Pediatric Oncology.

    Caitlyn Woods is a senior at Rayne High School. She is the daughter of John and Leola Woods of Rayne. During her time at Rayne High, she was active in the Student Council, Beta Club, H.O.S.A. Future Health Professionals and the Lighthouse Team. Caitlyn was a member of the dance team as well as the Track Manager. Outside of school she is a member of her church choir where she has performed as many different community events. Upon graduation, Caitlyn plans to attend Louisiana State University majoring in kinesiology with plans to become a physical therapist.
