On September 28th, Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Duson celebrated the breaking of ground for improvements on Hanks Road. This improvement stems from the one-cent sales tax proposition that voters approved in March. The project is expected to be completed in nine months. Although the actual tax didn’t start until October 1, 2018, Mayor Johnny Thibodeaux is eager to get a head start. Present at the Groundbreaking were representatives from Sabine State Bank & Trust, Elliott Construction LLC, Sellers & Associates, Inc., State Representative John Stefanski, Duson Chief of Police Kip Judice, and staff members of Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and One Acadiana. Mayor Thibodeaux extended his thank yous to all who were present, and to the council members who were pivotal in the execution of this project.
We extend an invitation to all of Acadia Parish to join us and the Town of Duson for the following two Ribbon Cuttings:
- Stirling Lane on October 12th at 10 AM
- Toby Mouton Road on October 16th at 10 AM
