The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Board of Directors has announced the promotion of Elizabeth Istre Miller as President & CEO effective March 15, 2024. Miller was previously named as interim following former president and CEO, Megan M. Duhon’s, departure on January 31.
“Our board of directors was unanimous in this decision, and I think that speaks volumes about what Acadia Parish can look forward to under Elizabeth’s leadership of the chamber,” says Michael Doughty, chairman. “There is no doubt in our minds that she can not only maintain our organization but see that it continues to thrive as one of the best chambers in the state.”
Miller joined the Acadia Parish Chamber in 2021 and has since taken lead on numerous events and activities including membership development and retention, the joint leadership initiative with Jeff Davis Parish, Leadership EXCEL, and a full portfolio of small business support initiatives. She earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from McNeese State University and is a graduate of Leadership EXCEL.
“I’m honored and excited to hit the ground running with some familiar favorites and a few new initiatives,” says Miller. “The chamber is the voice of our business community, and my team is looking forward to investing new energy into our existing businesses while we continue to do the long-term work of making Acadia Parish attractive to those who are looking for the best place to live, work, and play.”
