    Election Day in Acadia Parish

    By Elizabeth Miller | Uncategorized | Comments are Closed | 8 October, 2024 | 0

Get Ready for Election Day: Your Voice Matters!

As we gear up for the November 5th election, it’s time to make sure your voice is heard. With a mix of national, state, and local decisions on the ballot, this election is your chance to help shape our future. Here’s everything you need to know to stay informed and vote with confidence.

    Key Dates to Remember

    • Early Voting: Starts Friday, October 18th and runs through Wednesday, October 29th (excluding Sundays, October 20th and 27th).
    • Election Day: Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.

Make sure you plan ahead! If you’re ready to vote early, the Acadia Parish Registrar of Voters is your local early voting location, open daily during the early voting window from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM at 568 NW Court Circle, Crowley, LA 70526.

    What’s on the Ballot?

This year’s election is an important one. You’ll be voting in the Open Primary/Congressional/Presidential election, which includes:

    • Presidential Election
    • US Representative for the 3rd Congressional District
    • Constitutional Amendment No. 1: This amendment relates to federal revenues and the Coastal Protection Restoration Fund. It’s a critical measure that will impact the future of Louisiana’s coastlines. Be sure to review the PAR guide to CA No. 1 here to make an informed decision.

    Other Important Deadlines

    • October 15: Last day to register to vote or update your information through the Geaux Vote Voter Portal.
    • November 1: Last day to request a mail-in ballot.
    • November 4: Deadline for the Registrar to receive your mail-in ballot.

    Planning for Early Voting

With the International Rice Festival happening from October 18th to 20th, we’re expecting an exciting buzz in the area. To ensure you can vote without hassle, early voting traffic should approach the courthouse from East Hutchinson. Turn left into the second courthouse parking lot, and when you’re done, exit into the northbound lanes of Parkerson Avenue. Security will be on hand to assist with traffic flow. Access to the parking lot will be restricted during the Children’s’ Parade and the Grand Parade. Though, walking in traffic will continue to be accepted.

    Election Day Tips

Can’t make it to early voting? No worries! Head to the polls on Election Day, November 5th, and make your voice count. Need to find your polling location? Simply visit the Geaux Vote voter portal or download the app for easy access to everything you need on Election Day.

Let’s make this election count! Every vote matters—whether you’re voting early or on Election Day, make sure your voice is part of the conversation.
