Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Welcomes New Board Members
The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development is thrilled to announce the addition of four new members to the Board of Directors.
Michael Doughty, 2023-2024 Chairman, will move into an ex-officio role for his final year and work alongside David “Willie” Bergeron, 2024-2025 Chairman. The board will hold its first meeting at the end of July, at which point it will elect the remaining members of the Executive Committee.
Additionally, APCCED would like to extend its gratitude to the four members whose term of service has expired. Completing their terms as of June 30, 2024 are; Jared Monk, Jaguar Energy Services; Scott Lowry, Edward Jones; Carter Prejean, Shop Rite; and Sondra Broussard, Acadiana Security Plus.
Incoming members begin their term on July 1, 2024 and will serve a three year term.
Bryan Comeaux, South Central Insurance
Bryan Comeaux resides in Crowley. Comeaux is a graduate of Crowley High School and LSUE. He is the owner of South Central Insurance Brokers located in downtown Crowley where he services the life and health benefit needs of both businesses and individuals. He is a long-term member and current President of the Crowley Rotary Club and is a member of the Crowley Town Club.
Matthew Hanks, Supreme Rice
Matthew Hanks is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and holds a bachelors in business administration from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. Hanks is a sales representative with Supreme Rice.
Michele Veillon, Senior Helpers
Michele Veillon is a resident of Rayne. She is the CEO and Co-Owner (with Elder Outreach) of Senior Helpers Lafayette, an in-home caregiver agency. Veillon holds a bachelor’s degree in business from ULL and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from LSU. She is currently a Board Member and Secretary of the Rayne Chamber of Commerce, Executive Board Member of the Rayne Rotary Club and Board Member of the Rayne Beautification Board.
Zuri Poullard, Ochsner Acadia General Hospital
Zuri Poullard is a lifelong resident of Crowley and is the Director of Environmental Services for Ochsner Acadia General Hospital. His community involvement includes the Crowley mens’ adult leagues and the ABLE program. Poullard is a proud graduate of Crowley High School and he attended Southern University.
APCCED is managed by an employed President/CEO and staff. However, the direction of the organization is in the hands of its Board of Directors, who are elected by the full voting membership. Each director is elected to a three-year term. The Board of Directors meets bi-monthly, working at a high level to ensure APCCED effectively serves the parish.
