The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development is honored to announce that Michael J. LeJeune, CEO of Acadia St.Landry Hospital, has been selected as the 2024 Business Person of the Year in conjunction with Acadia Parish Honors Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony.
LeJeune is originally from Roberts Cove and is a proud product of Acadia Parish. He received his foundational education at Redemptorist Catholic Elementary School and Notre Dame High School. From there, he went on to obtain an Associate of Science Degree from LSU-Eunice, an Associate of Applied Science Degree from South Louisiana Community College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, as well as his MBA, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Lejeune and his wife, Lainie, currently reside in Lafayette. Though, he says the goal is to move back home to Acadia Parish.
LeJeune is a seasoned healthcare professional with a rich background spanning over 18 years in the healthcare industry. He began his career as a paramedic with Acadian Ambulance before pursuing a degree in nursing. He honed his skills as an Emergency Room Nurse at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center before transitioning into roles of increasing responsibility, including Director of Education and Clinical Manager at XstremeMD, a remote occupational medical company, and a hospice nurse case manager at Hospice of Acadiana.
While working as a hospice nurse, he earned his MBA, marking a pivotal shift from clinical care to healthcare administration with his appointment as Chief Operating Officer and Interim CEO of Hospice of Acadiana. In 2022, he was hired as the CEO and Administrator of Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point.
Beyond his professional commitments, LeJeune is involved in various business and civic organizations, including the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, Rotary International, Roberts Cove Germanfest Association, and LSUE Foundation Board.
LeJeune will be presented this award on Thursday, May 9th, at the Acadia Parish Honors Annual Banquet & Awards Ceremony. The Acadia Parish Honors is open to the public.
