Summertime marks a new year for us here at the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce. It is no surprise that we kick it off with a bang! Members of the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met Friday, August 3 for their annual planning meeting. With the help of professional facilitator, Brent Henley of the Pyramid Group, the group spent the day at Zeus Crowley to discuss the long and short-term vision for our growing Chamber. Brent has done an excellent job over the years to help us refine our message and identify objectives to keep us moving forward as a Chamber of Commerce.
The eighteen-member board addressed ongoing issues that contribute to the growth and development of our parish. The Chamber will continue its efforts to work with elected officials and other community leaders to improve the quality of life for our citizens and businesses. Our Board of Directors has identified several goals, including: A) Establish a comprehensive action plan for Parish Economic Development, B) Strengthen our efforts as the voice of Parish businesses focusing on education, development and quality of life, and C) Expand efforts in supporting our members and assisting in their growth. With great leaders at the helm, we have no doubt that this year will be an outstanding year at the newly formed Acadia Parish Chamber.
