    Be Prepared: Acadia Parish Sandbag Information

    Church Point

    Residents should bring shovels. Sandbags and sand will be provided free of charge. Limit three per door. Must show ID and reside in Church Point city limits.

    City barn will be open
    7-11-19 from 8am-7pm
    7-12-19 from 8am-7pm

     

    Crowley

    Public Works Building, Starting Wednesday, July 10 at 8 a.m. 6 bags/driver’s license will be given out

     

    Estherwood

    Mayor Donald Popp Sr. would like the citizens of our Village to know that we will have sandbags available for you if you need them, although we do not intend to give them out until at the earliest tomorrow or as the weather dictates. Please be prepared to bag your own sand. Please stay tuned to the weather and any watches or warnings. Thank you and stay safe.

     

    Iota

    Sandbags will be available for the people of Iota who are in danger of flooding. The Mayor of Iota says, that the sandbag fill-up location will be located at the town yard under the water tower. Residents are asked to enter the town yard on Duson Avenue and exit the yard on Doucet Street. Sandbags will be able to be filled on Thursday from 8:00am-2: 30 pm and on Friday from 8:00am-11: 00 am. For after-hours fill up please call (337)717-8511. People are asked to bring shovels to fill your own sandbags. Assistance will be available if needed. There will be a six bags limit per household.

     

    Mermentau

    In anticipation of the upcoming storm, the Village is doing our part in preparing for intense rain and wind. We are asking our residents to do their part and pick up any trash and debris that could fly away and accumulate at our flood pump causing drainage issues. If you have any outside toys, chairs, basketballs, etc please put them in a secure spot safe from the wind and weather. Working together we can prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

     

    Morse

    With the potential of heavy rains, The Village of Morse will be giving 8 sandbags per household to those who live in the village limits and Richard Addition. You must provide a valid driver’s license showing a Morse address for the Village limits or Richard Addition. Sand will be available at the Village barn on Jules St.You must bring your own shovel and fill the bags. We will provide pre-filled bags for the elderly and disabled only. The hours for sandbags will be 7 am to 4 pm beginning 7/10/19, we may extend the hours if needed. If you should have any questions please call the Village Hall at 337-783-7555.

     

    Rayne

    Public Works department will be handing out sand bags at 1pm Thursday 7/11/2019 at the Pavilion on Frog Festival Drive. You must have a valid ID with an address in the city limits of Rayne.  If you have a business within the incorporated city limits, then you will need to bring proof. Sand bags will be loaded into vehicles under the Pavilion, out of the weather.  Limit 5 bags per household.
