On Thursday, January 31st in Acadia General Hospital conference room, the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce revealed its new brand to an audience of stakeholder members and Board of Directors at its inaugural Chairman’s Breakfast.
Melinda Malmay, Chairwoman of the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce, and Amy S. Thibodeaux, President and CEO, had the honor of revealing the logo to the audience of key leaders. “Two organizations have joined together which has created stronger ties in all corners of Acadia Parish,” Malmay said. “Where there is unity there is always success.”
In June of 2018, The Crowley Chamber of Commerce and OneAcadia had announced the completion of a merger of the two organizations into the new Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce. After several months of discussions, the brand unveiling was the final step in completing the new identity of the unified chamber.
Prejean Creative, an advertising agency based in Lafayette under the direction of Lisa and Kevin Prejean, designed the logo.
“It was a wonderful process,” Prejean said. “The Chamber staff was very thoughtful about what they wanted and their vision for the business community in the parish, and what was needed to move it forward.”
The objective of the new logo design was to present a unified look that was both respectful of the chamber’s voice and history, yet reflective of the organization’s continued growth and transformation. The stand-alone “A” signifies a stronger, more dynamic organization with a contemporary font. The new logo features the economic engine of the parish—agriculture—with a minimalistic rice stalk inside the “A”. The new logo design also maintains the blue color theme to reflect trust, connectivity, and productivity.
The Acadia Parish Chamber helps members gain influence and access on issues that matter to business. They serve as the leading economic development organization and business advocate for Acadia Parish.
