The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee and Board of Directors named Megan Malmay Duhon President & CEO of the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce effective March 1, 2022. Duhon has served as Interim President & CEO since December 2021.
Duhon was hired on with the former Crowley Chamber of Commerce in August of 2015. During her time, she led numerous activities such as member development, Leadership EXCEL and government relations. She worked alongside her predecessor, Amy Thibodeaux, for over seven years helping transition and grow the organization into a parish-wide chamber of commerce and economic development organization now known as Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she works in close partnership with elected leaders and parish, regional and state organizations to help foster and grow the business community of Acadia Parish. “Not many grow up with the desire to work for a chamber of commerce or become an economic developer; I am grateful for the opportunity that presented itself nearly eight years ago. It has been a wonder watching this organization grow and I am thrilled to continue our vision to make Acadia Parish a great place to work, live and play.”
“The board is excited to officially transition Megan into the role of President for the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce. Her work ethic and dedication to the organization for the betterment of the businesses and economic development, has proven that she can continue the efforts set forth for a better Acadia Parish. We are looking forward to the impact she will make for many years to come.” Jeremiah Meck, Acadia Parish Chamber Board Chairman.
Duhon graduated with her Bachelors in Political Science and Interpersonal Communications in May of 2017 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. While in Lafayette, Duhon was named to UL Lafayette’s Who’s Who Among Students, served as a Senator for UL’s Student Government Association and stayed significantly involved in Greek Affairs and the Office of Orientation.
