    Acadia Chamber 2019-2020 Incoming Officers Announced

    Daniel Nugier, Chairman

    Daniel Nugier is a Real Estate Broker for Southwest Real Estate, LLC, which is part of The Southwest Group and has served as a member of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Acadiana since 2016, serving as president in 2017. A graduate of Notre Dame High School, Nugier was general manager for Louisiana Rice Mill — currently Supreme Rice Mill — from 2001 until 2008.

    He was a director, founding member and vice president of One Acadia (now the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce) and is a founding board member of Crowley Fire Protection District No. 11. He has served as a member of the One Acadiana board of directors and is a past president of the Crowley Kiwanis Club. He is married to Renee Miller Nugier and they have four children — Jacob, Caroline, Jack, and Russ.

    Chance Henry, Vice-Chairman

    Chance Henry is the owner of Keith Henry Insurance Agency, Inc. in Mermentau and has been a chamber member since 2016. He is a lifelong resident of the 5th ward of Acadia Parish and a proud graduate of Midland High School. After graduation, Chance started Bon Chance Crawfish catering company, which he still co-owns. In 2014, he re-opened his family’s insurance office and began serving the personal and commercial insurance needs of the people of Acadiana and Southwest Louisiana.

    Chance’s community involvement includes the Crowley Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus Father Fontaine Council #4791, Istre Cemetery Board of Directors, Acadia Parish Planning Commission, Acadia Parish RPEC and a founding member of Cadien Toujours, Inc. Chance is married to Taylor Trahan Henry and they have one son, John Keith.

    Claire Benoit, Secretary-Treasurer

    Claire Benoit, President and CEO of Rayne Building and Loan Association (RBL), is a licensed certified public accountant and chartered global management accountant who has been with the financial institution since 1990.  Prior to her presidency, she served as RBL’s controller and chief financial officer.

    Benoit earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from USL in 1986 and her board certification as a public accountant while employed with Broussard, Poche, Lewis, and Breaux.  She is also a graduate of Notre Dame High School.  She and her husband, Tommy, have three children, Zachary, Stephen, and Nicholas.

    Benoit is a current board member of the Acadia Parish Chamber and a 2018 graduate of Leadership EXCEL.  Ms. Benoit is an active member of St. Leo’s Church Parish, Louisiana Bankers Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Louisiana Certified Public Accountants. She is involved with Roberts Cove Germanfest, Notre Dame High School, St. Michael Elementary School, and Rayne Rotary Club as a volunteer and former board member.

    Rayne Building and Loan Association has been a proud member of the Rayne Chamber of Commerce since it was formed in 1973.  RBL also played an active role with One Acadia until its merger with the new Acadia Parish Chamber in 2018.
