Got Roux? We sure do!

The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking teams and sponsors for the 15th Annual Gumbo Cook-Off presented by Shop Rite, Tobacco Plus Stores and Church Point Wholesale. Teams vying for the title of Gumbo Champion 2018 will compete in 4 different categories including seafood, non-seafood with homemade roux and jar roux options for each. Awards will also be presented for People’s Choice and Best Decorated Booth.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 27^th at the Rayne, Frog Festival Pavilion at 206 Frog Festival Drive. Admission is $10 which allows you to eat ALL the GUMBO you can eat! Live entertainment will be provided by Lafayette’s own Radio Zydeco beginning at 11:00 am, and we’ll even have fun activities for the kids! Gumbo will be ready at 11:30 am—so bring your empty stomach to taste ALL the different gumbos.
