The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development (APCCED) has been named the 2025 Medium Chamber of the Year by the Louisiana Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (LACCE). The honor was announced during LACCE’s Annual Conference held August 25-27, 2025.
The Chamber of the Year program recognizes chambers that have distinguished themselves and their communities through excellence in chamber management. To be eligible, chambers must be members in good standing of LACCE. Winners are selected from applications submitted by chambers across Louisiana.
APCCED is a two-time winner of this award, previously receiving the honor in 2018. The organization also maintains the designation of a LACCE Accredited Chamber of Commerce, a mark of excellence for its operations and impact.
“This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our staff, board of directors, and membership,” said Elizabeth Miller, President & CEO of APCCED. “Everything we do is driven by a desire to connect people, strengthen businesses, and grow Acadia Parish. To receive this honor again is both humbling and motivating as we continue building on the momentum of the past several years.”
Over the past year, APCCED has advanced its mission through:
-
Networking & Communication – Hosting quarterly luncheons, breakfasts, after-hours socials, and signature events such as the Gumbo Cookoff, Farmers’ Appreciation Dinner, Golf Classic, and Acadia Parish Honors, which serve as both fundraisers and community celebrations.
-
Education & Business Development – Providing relevant programming on workforce, tax reform, and leadership, while connecting businesses to critical resources and maintaining a parish-wide job board.
-
Advocacy & Government Relations – Establishing a formal agreement with the Acadia Parish Police Jury to serve as the parish’s designated Economic Development Organization (EDO), while amplifying local, state, and federal advocacy efforts.
-
Community Engagement & Social Impact – Launching a human-centered communications strategy that highlighted the stories of local businesses and increased public understanding of the Chamber’s work.
“Our Chamber’s success is not measured by awards, but by the impact we make on businesses and families in Acadia Parish,” Miller added. “Still, being recognized by our peers at LACCE reaffirms that we’re on the right path—and that makes us proud of the progress we’ve made together as an organization.”
