The Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Istre Miller as Interim President & CEO effective February 1, 2024. Miller’s appointment follows the announcement that Megan Malmay Duhon has accepted a regional position as One Acadiana’s Director of Economic Development.
Miller joined the Acadia Parish Chamber in 2021 and has since taken lead on numerous events and activities including membership development and retention, the joint leadership initiative with Jeff Davis Parish, Leadership EXCEL, and a full portfolio of small business support initiatives. She earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from McNeese State University and is a graduate of Leadership EXCEL.
“Having the confidence of our incredible board is an honor,” Miller says. “This is an opportunity for me to make a difference towards advancing our parish in many areas including workforce development, small business retention and growth, and economic growth. I am eager to begin my new assignment.”
Miller has worked alongside Duhon for three years continuing to grow the parish-wide chamber and economic development organization into the dynamic business organization it remains today. An Acadia Parish native, Miller brings a wealth of experience and organizational management.
“I’m thrilled for Megan on her exciting new journey at One Acadiana and thankful for her leadership over the last several years,” Miller says. “We will continue to work together on the regional level to advance Acadia and our nine-parish region.”
“We are confident in Elizabeth and have seen her lead since day one,” says Michael Doughty, Chairman of the Board. “There is no doubt in our minds that she can not only maintain our organization but see that it continues to thrive as one of the best chambers in the state.”
