The 2023 Acadia Parish Honors Annual Banquet & Awards Ceremony is slated for Thursday, May 4th at the Grand Opera House of the South. This event wraps up the Acadia Parish Chamber’s year while honoring Business Person of the Year and Humanitarian of the Year, as well as Outstanding Young Citizens from each of the seven Acadia Parish High Schools. These distinguished scholars are not only brilliant in intellect but are also dedicated to each of their communities through volunteer work and civic activities.
Emily Beth Richard is a senior at Church Point High School. She is the daughter of Maggie and Timmy Richard of Church Point. Emily spent her time at Church Point High School as members of the volleyball team and cheerleading squad, all while maintaining honor all. As a junior, she was a leader and lighthouse representative, as well as being a part of the first Renaissance Pep Rally of Church Point High School. Outside of school, Emily enjoys volunteering in her community with her family, and aspires to be a part of the Church Point Community Development Corporation Team to continue improving her community. Upon graduation, Emily has plans to attend Louisiana State University at Eunice where she will study Radiologic Technology.
Jacy Lyn Regan is a senior at Crowley High School. She is the daughter of Vicky and Brian Regan of Crowley. During high school, she was a National FFA Member, a member of the CHS Leadership Committee, and a member of the Yearbook Committee. Jacy placed 5th in District Literary Rally for Ag III, has held perfect attendance for nine years and was named Student of the Year. Outside of school, she is an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and a screen printer at Rice City Designs. Jacy enjoys teaching elementary students about plants, and facilitating workshops for students about different aspects of leadership, time management, mental health, and agricultural experience opportunities. After graduation, Jacy plans to attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette to major in Visual Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design.
Emily Claire Hebert is a senior at Iota High School. She is the daughter of Rhett and Denise Hebert of Basile. During her time at Iota High, she has been involved in various sports and clubs. Emily’s academic achievements include National Society of High School Scholars, Student of the Year Nominee, First Place in Physics at the District Literary Rally, and Excellence Rating FBLA District – Computer Application. Outside of school she stays involved in her community through her church, St. Jules/St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she has been an altar server for seven years. Upon graduation, Emily plans to attend McNeese State University where she will major in Health and Human Performance with the hopes of one day studying Physical Therapy.
Raynee Joelle Manshack is a senior at Midland High School. She is the daughter of Brandy Manshack and Joey Manshack of Crowley. During high school, she has been a member of FCCLA, FBLA, Student Council and Drama Club. Raynee has served multiple offices of the clubs she was in, as well as Varsity Cheer Captain. She placed 2nd at District Rally for Algebra I which qualified her for state. Outside of school, she stays active in her church community, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau. Raynee currently holds dual enrollment at LSUE and will also be graduating with her associates degree this spring. She plans to transfer to Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge where she will study Pre-Physical Therapy. Upon completion of her bachelor’s, Raynee plans to attend Physical Therapy School to earn her doctorate.
Alayna Cynthia Hebert is a senior at Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish. She is the daughter of Allen and Crystal Hebert of Rayne. During her time at Notre Dame, Alayna was active in Campus Ministry, Retreat Team, Beta, Yearbook, Catholic Schools Week Committee, and served as the Library Assistant. She was a member of the Volleyball Team for one year and Varsity Cheerleading Squad for three years. Outside of school, Alayna is an active member in her church parish, St. Leo IV, where she is a member of the youth group and a member of the sodality of Mary. She volunteers her time in the community by assisting with ND Campus Clean Up, face painting for various events, Thanksgiving Food Drive, and the annual CDA Valentine Breakfast. Upon graduation, Alayna plans to attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she will major in Interior Design with a minor in Business Administration and Floral Design.
Halle Danielle Lake is a senior at Northside Christian School in Crowley. She is the daughter of Edith Michel and Bryon Lake of Crowley. Halle spent her time at Northside involved in Yearbook, School Worship Team, Student Council and Beta, where she held the leadership role of Vice President. Outside of school, she is an active member in her church worship team, youth group worship team leader, and staff member at Louisiana Assemblies of God Campground. Upon graduation, Halle plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to pursue a degree in Music Education
Noel Bernard Peter is a senior at Rayne High School. He is the son of Bethalun Bernard of Rayne. During his time at Rayne High, he was active in FFA and Beta Club. Noel was a member of the Football and Baseball team, and has been a Student of the Month recipient. Outside of school, Noel is an Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America, as well as an active member and altar server in his church parish, Shrine of Our Mother of Mercy Rayne. He has volunteered his time with many organizations and events during high school including the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, the National Association of University Women -Rayne- Holiday Baskets, Rayne Fright Fest and the Rayne Frog Festival. Upon graduation, Noel plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to major in Engineering.
Acadia Parish Honors is slated for Thursday, May 4th at the Grand Opera House of the South. Doors open at 6pm for a cocktail hour, dinner will be served at 7pm. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by calling 337-788-0177.
