The Acadia Parish Police Jury is an active force within the parish that keeps life running smoothly for residents. The police jury is the governing authority for Acadia Parish that operates under the police jury system provided by the general laws of the state. Administration, LeGros Memorial Airport, Animal Control Building and Grounds, Community Clinics, Emergency Preparedness, Mosquito Control, Planning and Development, Rice Arena, Road Maintenance and Solid Waste all fall under the umbrella of the Acadia Parish Police Jury.
The police jury is both a legislative and administrative body. Its legislative and administrative functions include enacting ordinances and resolutions, establishing programs and setting policy. As an administrative body, it prepares the budget, hires personnel, spends money, negotiates contracts and, in general, directs the activities under its supervision.

All meetings are held in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Third Floor, at the Acadia Parish Courthouse, Crowley, Louisiana or at other locations at the discretion of the Police Jury.
