CROWLEY, La. – Regional partners including Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development, Acadia Parish Police Jury, Cleco, and One Acadiana are proud to announce that a 51.71-acre site located in Acadia Parish has been certified under the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) Certified Sites program. A Louisiana Economic Development Certified Site is a development-ready site that has completed a rigorous review process to answer as many development questions as possible.
With the addition of the Foster Site, Acadia Parish now has two certified sites, signaling to new and expanding businesses that they are prepared, proactive, and eager to welcome industry. These certifications position Acadia parish as a competitive and business-friendly location, offering companies a faster path from project planning to breaking ground.
Additionally, One Acadiana’s Site Development Program has now certified 30 sites across the region since the organization’s formation in 2015 – marking a significant milestone. This is achieved through partnership between One Acadiana, local economic development partners, Louisiana Economic Development, and landowners. These efforts respond to the needs of site selectors and relocating businesses. The due diligence performed during the certified sites process delivers a property with minimal uncertainty through enhanced site knowledge – helping to attract business and investment.
“Certifying land for development enhances our region’s competitiveness by allowing us to present marketable sites to both new and expanding businesses,” said President & CEO Troy Wayman. “The Foster Site is the 30th property to be certified through One Acadiana’s Site Development Program, serving as a testament to our regional progress and investment potential. We are proud to celebrate this milestone with our partners in Acadia Parish and the opportunities for growth this site presents.”
Just over 51-acres, the Foster Site is conveniently located less than 1 mile from Interstate 10, enabling quick east-west regional access, while having direct access to U.S. Highway 90 with excellent frontage potential. The site is also within one hour of key infrastructure including Lafayette Regional Airport and Lake Charles Regional Airport as well as Port of Lake Charles, Port of Iberia, and Port of Mermentau. Having a flat topography, the site poses a low likelihood of significant development constraints and has the potential to expand by an additional 80 acres.
“The certification of the 51.71-acre Foster Site is a major win for Acadia Parish. With direct access to highways, ports, and airports, this development-ready location is primed to attract new investment and jobs,” said Elizabeth Miller, President & CEO of Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development. “Thanks to the strong partnership between the Acadia Parish Chamber & Economic Development, Cleco, One Acadiana, and the Acadia Parish Police Jury, we’re better positioned than ever to grow our economy and create opportunities for our community.”
“The certification process was smooth and professional thanks to our local Acadia Parish chamber and One Acadiana development teams, starting with Amy Thibodeaux and Zach Hager and then Megan Duhon to see it to the finish line” said landowners Celeste Dolan and Donald Foster. “Their expertise and commitment to the mission of offering economic development opportunities in the region made it easy to showcase our property’s strengths, and we’re proud to have a certified site ready to attract quality investment opportunities to Crowley and Acadia Parish.”
“The completion of this Site Certification represents an important milestone for Acadia Parish. A Certified Site signals to industry leaders and prospective businesses that this property is ready for development, which translates into more opportunities for investment and high-quality jobs,” said Amy Thibodeaux of Cleco. “Cleco Power is proud to be part of the team, alongside LED, One Acadiana, and the Acadia Parish Chamber, positioning sites like this to successfully attract new projects.”
“The Foster Site represents one of Acadia Parish’s most promising opportunities for growth and investment,” said Acadia Parish Police Jury President, Beau Petitjean. “With its prime location near Interstate 10 and U.S. Highway 90, access to ports and airports, and strong regional workforce, this site is uniquely positioned to support a wide range of industries. The Acadia Parish Police Jury is committed to development that strengthens our economy, creates jobs, and enhances the quality of life for our residents, and we believe the Foster Site is a key part of that vision.”
