    4th Annual Law Enforcement Conference

    By Megan M. Duhon | Education | 0 comment | 17 October, 2019 | 0

The Acadia Parish Chamber and local law enforcement officials are gearing up for the 4th Annual Law Enforcement Conference slated for November 11th & 12th in Rayne at the Rayne Civic Center. Once again, registration is open to regional law enforcement. The conference will kick off on the evening of November 11th with Judge Harmon Drew from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Civic Center. The following day yields a great line up for all law enforcement. The morning open at 8:15am with Judge Drew and his wife, Mrs. Jean. Before lunch, attendees will hear from Kevin Ardoin and Acadiana Crime Lab.  Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry will provide an informative keynote over lunch. Following lunch, Hearts of Hope staff will give a presentation on procedures of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (S.A.N.E.s). A very special, collaborative presentation on ‘Law Enforcement and Social Media’ will be given by panel discussion including Sheriff Gibson, Chief Broussard, Chief Judice, Chief Stelly and Chief Thibodeaux early afternoon. The conference will wrap up Tuesday afternoon with a Courtroom Preparation session given by the 15th Judicial District District Attorney’s office.

The Acadiana Law Enforcement Conference is a time for our law enforcement across the nine-parish region to become updated on recent changes in important laws facilitated by the state’s leaders in this profession. In addition, the attendees are able to network with their neighboring partners. We are proud to provide a source of education to those who serve in one of the most noble professions. These individuals make Acadia Parish, and outlining areas, a safer place to work, play and live. Last year, we hosted over 200 attendees ranging from municipalities over 100 miles away to the officers right in our parish.

Please note that the content of this conference is for official law enforcement in the Acadiana region. If you do not meet these requirements but would like to join us for lunch and Judge Drew’s speech, sponsorship opportunities are available.

For businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring, please review Sponsors Information for the 2019 Acadiana Law Enforcement Conference Forms. Contact the Acadia Parish Chamber of Commerce prior to November 1st or email info@acadiaparishchamber.org to secure your sponsorship.
